Several studies have been completed for this Catholic Church and Elementary/Middle School located in downtown Goshen, Indiana. A most recent Study focused on a solution to expand the existing colonial style Church with a seamless architectural design.
The one story Addition with full Basement, includes a multi-use entrance Hall that can be subdivided into two meeting spaces with restrooms. The proposed Basement design includes two new private meeting spaces. The Church addition project currently awaits funding.
A previous Design and Feasibility Study was conducted that analyzed the expandability of the existing School building located on a very constricted site that is not contiguous with the Church site. The Project included new Elementary School classrooms and a Gymnasium that could double as a Fellowship Hall.
Multiple Repeat Client
Beginning in 1997, Sugar Grove Church, Goshen, IN, commissioned Cripe Design to do a Study to improve the functionality of an existing Fellowship Hall and add a new Youth Room. Then in 2001, Cripe Design was hired to conduct a Master Plan Study of the entire Church and create a multi-phased solution to add overtime new facilities and parking to the existing two-story Church building on its very limited site.
The Addition and Renovation plan included a new Youth Room, Classrooms, Offices, Kitchen, 700 seat sanctuary and expansion of the existing Fellowship Hall. Again in 2008, after the purchase of a large adjacent tract of land, Cripe Design was commissioned to revisit the Master Plan, but with the vision of tripling the size of the existing Church facilities, parking and include Softball and Soccer fields.
An initial Phase One project to remodel existing facilities and set-up the necessary user circulation infrastructure to initiate the Master Plan was completed in 2009. IN 2011, a Phase Two 15,00 square feet expansion project, including six new classrooms, restrooms and a second new celebration and/or worship space to accommodate 500 persons was completed.
